Holy Water Bottles

on

And he will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season; its leaf will not wither and everything that he does will succeed (Psalm 1:3 ONM).

All this previews into the topic of this chapter. If you were real thirsty, and were offered a clear cold refreshing glass of water, and the person that brought it to you gave it to you in a glass that was so dirty you could hardly see the water…. How would you feel? The water wouldn’t look so refreshing, anymore would it?  You probably would think, “Well, I guess I’m not that thirsty.” Well, what kind of temple housing place are we presenting the precious Living Water of God’s Spirit? Are we trying to water and produce fruit for the Lord from a contaminated vessel? The Living Water of the Holy Spirit it always pure and Holy, so if there is any contamination, it would be the temple that we are trying to house the Holy Spirit in. We can’t offer Him a Section Eight dwelling, because we can’t pay the price of righteousness for holiness. “….and the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your very being in drought, and relieve your bones. Then you will be like a watered garden and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” Jesus   reiterated this in John 7:38… “The one who believes in Me, just as the scripture said, rivers of living water will flow out from his inner being (Isaiah 58:11ONM). This is how the river of living waters of the Holy Spirit works in us. He is the pure source of our river.

The definition of home: (The New Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

  • One’s residence
  • The social unit formed by a family living together
  • Habitat
  • A congenial environment
  • A place of origin.

So, as one part of the definition states, it’s a place of residence. What kind of dwelling place are we giving the Holy Spirit to make Him feel like He’s at home? Are we treating Him like family living together?
