“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even in the face of death.” (Revelation 12:11 TLV)
Most of us had the horrific experience (for me) of watching a medical staff member fill up multiply tubes of our blood. The tubes are then sent to a lab to begin the analysis of revealing what is going on in our bodies from that blood. The lab technician can tell whether the proper nutrients are supplying the blood with its sustaining power and if the white blood cells have not been compromised from doing their job of protecting the body from foreign invaders.
Most people don’t realize that the blood of Jesus Christ does the same thing. It supplies us with all our spiritual nutrients and it protects our spirits against any foreign invaders. When we are covered by the blood of Jesus the enemy (devil) can’t harm us. The blood does more than just save us from sin it has power to keep us. When John wrote this in the book of Revelation of Jesus Christ, he had just revealed in the previous verses about how Satan had finally been kicked out of heaven and he no longer has access to accuse the brethren. He (Satan) is mad and in attack mode for the saints. Then he reveals how we will survive this manic attack by the blood of Jesus and our testimony of Jesus. This is our shield of defense. Notice how it’s singular in the scripture, word, because there is only one word of testimony we can speak that will aide and protect us, the name of Jesus.

The word of our testimony does not and has not ever meant “giving honor to God, the Pastor, First Lady, Deacons, and everybody on the front row” during a testimony service. The blood is so much more glorified and powerful than that.
