Change of Plan

on

“Yes, you yourselves planned evil against me, God planned it for good, in order to bring about what it is this day, to preserve the lives of many people.” (Genesis 50:20 Messianic Jewish Family Bible)

A few years ago, I remember hearing a story about a woman who was praying for food with her window open. A boy who was listening to her pray begin snickering.  He went and bought groceries and placed them on her porch. Then he knocked on her door and hid behind a bush.  When she opened the door, and saw the groceries she began exclaiming and praising God. The boy jumped out of the bush and laughed and said God didn’t bring you that food I did.  She then said the devil might have brought it here but God sent it.  The evil plan that this boy had for this woman, had changed and led him down the road of God’s good plan.  Even though evil tries to put up road blocks on our spiritual journey the bible lets us know that if we love God those evil plans work out for our good (Romans 8:28).  Wicked Hamon found this out when he tried to exterminate all the Jews.  God used Queen Esther to thwart and make a change of plans by using Hamon’s own device of destruction against him and his family.  We can say in this situation that the devil built the guillotine but God used it (Esther 7:10). As Saul galloped swiftly to Damascus with his notarized letter from the high priests and Elders, planning to slaughter the disciples of the Lord, he galloped into God’s change of plan. The Lord’s plan changed him into the one of the very people he had planned on killing (Acts 9:1-6).  The Lord’s change of plan gave him a new name of Apostle Paul, and he ended up writing majority of the new testament.  The most awesome supernatural change of plans from the enemy is when he thought he has destroyed our Lord and Savior. When he nailed him to the cross he thought he had won.  “Which none of the princes of this world knew, for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”  God planned it for good to preserve the life of many. The devil built the cross but the Lord voluntarily laid down His life on it.  That’s why the word of God says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give thanks.  It doesn’t say for but in everything because we know that for every weapon and plan the devil has against us, God has a change of plan.
