Clean Hands

on

“Who will ascend the hill of the LORD? Or who will stand in His Holy Place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to vanity or sworn deceitfully.” (Psalms 24:3-4 ONM)

There is a doctrine in our judicial system called “clean hands.”  This doctrine law and legal definition is defined as anyone that brings a lawsuit or motion to the court would have to be innocent of any wrongdoing. They can not exhibit any bad actions in their own conduct in relations to the subject matter of which they are litigating.  This originated from the kingdom of God’s court system.  When we abide with God or stand before His court, He has certain expectations of us; “Lord who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill” He that walketh uprightly and worketh righteousness and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue nor doeth evil to his neighbor, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor, in whose eyes, a vile person is despised, but he honoreth them who fear the Lord, he that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not; He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved” (Psalms 15:1-5). Our hearts need to be pure and our hands need to be clean as we sit in our heavenly place with the Lord.  When we preach, and litigate His word as court representatives we must not be accused of having “dirty hands.”  When Jesus spoke on judging, a lot interpretation has been stated that He was coming against judging people (Matthew 7:1). He was speaking about having “clean hands” and to remove everything from you that causes your hands to be dirty, then you will be able to see clearly to litigate against the defendant’s trangression (Matthew 7:5).  So, the prerequisite for God’s kingdom court system was written by King David: “Who will abide in Your Tent? Who will dwell in Your Holy Hill? He who walks uprightly and does righteousness and speaks the truth in his heart” (Psalm 15:1-2).   In other words, he that has “clean hands.”
