The Walls Came Tumbling Down

on

“So the people shouted, with the shofars blowing. When the people heard the sound of the shofars, the people let out a great shout; and the wall fell down flat; so that the people went up into the city, each one straight ahead of him; and they captured the city.” (Joshua 6:20)

Most of us are familiar with the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty.  The nursery rhyme goes on to say that he sat on the wall and after the great fall no one could put him back together again. All the king’s power and strength didn’t work.

Are you holding back knocking humpty dumpty off your wall and cracking him open because you will find your distress, oppression, tribulation, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or a sword will be inside (Romans 8:35)?  He sits there on the wall blocking you from getting to the other side of the love of Christ and deliverance that would not allow him to be put back together again “Indeed, if I build up again the legalistic bondage which I destroyed, I really do make myself a transgressor” (Galatians 2:18).    He knows that on the other side of the wall is your deliverance, the spoils of the enemy, spiritual blessings, and the path God has laid out for you “Then they burned the city to ashes with everything in it, except for the silver, the gold and the brass and iron utensils, which they put in the treasury of the house of Adonai” (Joshua 6:24).

Knock humpty dumpty off the wall and empty him of everything that holds you hostage.  Then you can blow the shofar and make your shout of victory and the walls will come tumbling down!
