“But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
With my dad having been in the U.S. Airforce, I grew up quite a few years living a military lifestyle stateside and abroad overseas. There was at one time many of the WWI posters up with Uncle Sam pointing his finger at you with the written words on it “Uncle Sam Wants You”. This was an attempt made by the army as advertisement for recruitment into the military. Once a person signed up in the military they were given a MOS (military occupational specialty).
Does God now have to point His finger at Christians because they have gotten so lethargic in His Kingdom? Has lethargy poured out so heavily on you that you are showing up for battle in His army not fully equipped in your armor “Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11)? Have you been part of the body of Christ for a while and still don’t know your MOS. There is no military occupational specialty code CPW (church pew warmer).
Find out what your assignment is that the Lord already has planned out “For I know what plans I have in mind for you,’ says Adonai,‘plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). You have a recruiting manual, the bible, with the Lord’s finger pointing at you “GOD WANTS YOU”!
